Piercing Aftercare
This is my recommended procedure for tattoo aftercare.

The PROPER CARE OF YOUR BODY PIERCING The proper and timely healing of your new body piercing is now entirely up to you. The piercer has used the best quality jewelry available, and changing to inferior jewelry can cause problems with the healing of your piercing. Read carefully the following instructions for care of your piercing.

DO NOT listen to any other instructions for the care of the piercing. USE SOME COMMON SENSE to care for the piercing. If you have any questions, call or stop by the ACEs Ft O Tattoo Co.

First and foremost, WASH YOUR HANDS before you touch your piercing! Most infections will result from dirty hands.

Naval, eyebrow, ear, tragus, septum, lip, nose, nipple: Using a mild soap, such as Dial ANtibacterial liquid soap, gently wash the piercing thoroughly, using a good lather to clean the jewelry as well as the openings to the piercing, and spin the jewelry to clean out the inside of the piercing.

Next, rinse the piercing and jewelry to remove the soap, using lots of cool water. It is not nessecary to use Labret: Since you obviously cannot move this jewelry like a ring, you will need to try and move the Labret stud back and forth while cleaning to get the inside of the piercing cleaned out. Otherwise, use the same basic procedures (soap, water, and rinse) as with the ring type jewelry.

Tongue: Simply rinse with yellow colored LISTERINE, diluted with 50% water, as often as you can, especially after eating or smoking. Glyoxide, available in most drug stores, can be used if necessary.

Avoid the use of Betadine type solutions as they may stain (change) the color of the jewelry. DO NOT use alchohol or Hydrogen Peroxide either as these can dry out the skin around the piercing.
